BOB Gateway is an intents-based swaps engine for native BTC. It lets you swap native Bitcoin into stablecoins, tokenized gold, ETH, wBTC, and directly into DeFi positions across chains — all in a single transaction, without bridges, wrappers, or custodians.
How it works: User specify the outcome you want — "swap my BTC for XAUT0 on Ethereum BNB" — and Gateway handles the execution. Under the hood, solvers lock liquidity in smart contracts on BOB, you send BTC on Bitcoin, and once the BTC transaction is confirmed, you receive XAUT on the destination chain.
Swap time: Currently 5-10 minutes on average (Bitcoin confirmation time). Note: BOB will soon release an instant/fixed-rate swap feature that guarantees the output amount at the time of the transaction, eliminating the slippage issues commonly seen in traditional cross-chain swaps, and enable instant liquidity for selected Defi use cases.
Distribution: Available via API for wallet and aggregator integrations, SDK for developers building on top of Gateway, and BOB's own consumer dapp (app.gobob.xyz).
BOB Gateway uses USDT0 as part of its routing engine. Cross-chain swaps through Gateway settle through USDT0 on Ethereum, leveraging LayerZero OFT for cross-chain delivery. This means BTC↔XAUT trading runs via BTC → USDT0 → XAUT, increasing both USDT0 volume and USDT0-XAUT DEX pool utilization.
